Paua is a shellfish found only on New Zealand’s coast. It’s shaped similarly to abalone, but has tons more color. Some shells look like opal – you know, that iridescent blue with white and red highlights? We thought we’d like to try cutting buttons and jewelry from it…and viola – it works!
