makara beach

The three of us enjoyed a scramble on the rocks and dinner with a friend at sunset on a full moon evening on Makara Beach.

Wellington beaches are generally very sparse in human visitors, but rich in sea life, and we oohed and aahed over hermit crabs, paua (like abalone), various sea plants, anemones, and fish we found in the tide pools. Amazing.
