the trip part 9: punakaiki

The rain cleared…so we ventured back out to the West Coast, to Punakaiki.

Traveling north out of Greymouth, the seaside changes, becoming rugged and dramatic.

At Punakaiki we did a horse trek.

I love this photo; to me this look says
“I love this”
“I could stay here forever” and
“Can we get one of these?”
:-)

There is something mystical about this area: the palm trees, limestone cliffs and caves, and tannin-colored rivers.
